Workforce

Northeast Alabama has a readily available workforce, drawing from a labor pool of over 1 million within a tri-state area. DeKalb, Jackson and Marshall Counties have a high underemployment rate and the region has an overall low union presence.

Workforce training programs are available for automotive manufacturers and automotive suppliers locating in DeKalb, Jackson or Marshall Counties. The workforce development programs are available at no cost to the manufacturers and provide training specific to the automotive industry.
